Southwestern Middle School

Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!!!!!Would not recommend your child to go here. Problems are endless!!!!!!There's not enough space for me to write all the issues we've had with this HORRIBLE school! What a nightmare!

Southwestern Middle school is a terrific school, with friendly staff and terrific teachers. Way to go!

This wonderful school is the best middle school there is in Florida!!! The staff and teachers there treat you like family. I know that because its my 3rd year there and it has been the most fun filled 3 years of my life!!! I give this school 2 HUGE thumbs up!!

Unfortunately, I found that the learning environment at SWM was horrible ( 2012-2013 / school year). I was an active parent, but I still felt some of my child's teachers were just there, not really engaged! The expectations set for the students in my opinion were embarrassingly low, and they have a very limited amount of extra curricular activities for the students. There is also a lot of proven bullying at this school. I highly recommend anyone sending your child here, to please do your research first!! Not just on these types of school focused websites, but max out Google. And take a tour if possible. We were from out of state, so it made it more difficult, but I wished I never sent my child there. If you have no other choice, make sure you stay in contact with the teachers from the first day, as a majority of the parents do not do. Let them know upfront what your expectations are for your child, and please do not let them set it for you. I truly hope the school improves one day, but at this point in time, I suggest this school be the last option for your child!
