The school is run by cliques of parents that make sure their kids are recognized and the others left behind. If you have a lot of money and can be in the school at all times involved with the PTO- GO FOR IT! You will be treated good. I agree with previous commentaries in regards to discipline. They are not a team and everyone tries to avoid dealing with serious issues like bullying. There are no consequences and the environment is not safe. This year they have a new administrator that is trying to survive the chaos. BEWARE OF THIS SCHOOL!

Both of my children attended Pinewoods. By textbook standards the first would be considered just about perfect and the second is average. Pinewoods staff failed at their job with my second child. They did a nice job of complaining about him but were unskilled at actually helping him. He doesn't have ADD but he needs to be redirected frequently. His third grade teacher couldn't be bothered and two months in, we withdrew him to homeschool. We never wanted to homeschool a child in elementary school but we were so disappointed in their lack of concern that we were just too downtrodden to put him through 'trying' another school. There are some EXCELLENT teachers there but there are also some that shouldn't be there. He had excellent kindergarten and first grade teachers, the second grade teacher upset him so regulary that we took him to the Dr. several times, ending up with a gastroenterologist who found nothing wrong and then the symptoms stopped over the summer, began with the new school year and ended the day we took him out to homeschool. We hoped that if we made it through 2nd, we would get a kinder teacher in 3rd, but it didn't happen. She wasn't rude, just disinterested.
