San Carlos Park Elementary School

We are thrilled with this school. We are involved parents and care deeply about our children’s academic futures. We’ve found that San Carlos encourages academic achievement while still honoring the child within each student. This is a unique accomplishment in a society that is pushing children too hard and not honoring the (research-based) value of play-based learning.

The Principal, Ms. Kutz is one of the most compassionate educators I've met. She'll work with you and your child if there are issues that are a distraction from learning. Overall, however, I've seen a lot of negative reinforcement from the Vice Principals and Coaches, which tells me that their system of learning is "behind the times" and this could very well be the reason that the performance of kids at this school is way below state average.

I love my daughter's school! She's had wonderful teachers and most of the staff is very nice. I don't love the pick up situation but I'm sure a lot of schools have the same process. My daughter feels like she belongs there and that is super important to me as she had a bad experience in her N.Y. elementary school. Overall, I am very happy with San Carlos Park Elementary.

We're going on our 3rd year and we've had great experiences with the teachers, the office staff and the VP and Principal.
