Let me start off by saying wolfson has been a great school for me. I have been able to do things such as cheerlead and have a much closer relationship to my peers and teachers than at any other school would have offered. The down side is many of my peers who are not in the IB program or who are not excelling are not getting the same treatment I am. I came from a very good middle school and was apart of a big group of kids who decided to go to wolfson from that middle school. Kids from my middle school get treated a lot better than the kids who are from the neighborhood or kids who came from a not as advanced middle school. They don’t treat their students equally. The juniors and seniors who are kids from around the neighborhood are not being helped. In fact the school tells incoming freshmen that they will be out soon so there is no need to worry about them. They separate us from them and I don’t see that as fair at all. In all wolfson has been a good fit for me just keep in mind that they do not treat everyone equally.

This is an IB/AP Program on the rise. The administration and staff are dedicated to creating a highly balanced yet academically rigorous experience for their students. Their efforts are further supported by a groundswell of parent and community support and involvement. This is a fantastic high school option for students and parents looking for an authentic american high school experience with an emphasis on academic achievement.

Samuel Wolfson SAS is moving in a very positive direction. Ratings on this site do not take into account the transition to a dedicated magnet for IB and AP classes that’s happening. The school will be fully transitioned in the 2019-2020 school year.

Wolfson is now a dedicated magnet school for advanced studies and the International Baccalaureate diploma program, for all students in the 9th and 10th grade classes. This transition is already showing great results for the academic success of the students. Principal Begley took over in January 2017 and is doing a great job with helping Wolfson be competitive with the academic success of Stanton. The students also have many opportunities to play sports and be involved with extra curricular activities. Parental involvement in the school has also increased since it became a dedicated magnet. As a parent of a 9th grader, I can honestly say the future is extremely bright for the students at Wolfson and their families!
