Lake Mary High School

LMHS is a school district we moved into specifically as this school as always had great/safe location, great teachers and college bound graduates.

This school is known for having excellent programs with national reach and ranking such as the Marionnette dance team and their Debate team. The sports teams are also phenomenal and regularly take states. Your child will have every opportunity to excel if they take a little initiative. Great administration as well.

I am concerned about how the Superintendant budgets monies to school sport track and field and less into more teachers and quality of teachers. In the foreign language department , it leaves very few choices for languages and does not see the need for more of them . Some very new teachers without very much experience leaves me to wonder that this school is in somewhat of a decline in the past 3 years . As for student media ( computers especially ) there are not enough for the students , so when common core FSA//EOC , etc . All the other students have to waste time in class while others are testing ! So I say lake Mary is spending (investing )money in the wrong area!! I am becoming more disappointed in the quality of where the school is headed overall. It may be an A school now, but I am just waiting for final SAT/ACT FSA/EOC Scores will be matched with the other schools in the area!! Invest more in the students needs , less on 400,000 turf and track!

Lake Mary has a great administration staff. They not only care about the students; they make the campus very safe. Lake Mary has a variety of classes for all levels and the students are encouraged to seek their potential. Even though we have experienced a couple of teachers that don't seem to like to teach, overall the teachers are exceptional! The English department is fantastic. My child has really grown at this school.
