We are a small community school with so many opportunities for our students!
Myakka City Elementary is a very unique, special education experience! It is a smaller school, with 250 students, small class sizes and caring teacher and administrators. The warm, loving, caring feeling this gives you and your student only helps the amazing teachers do their job so well. I feel like there is such a focus on family, success and the kids becoming the best they can be! With Manatee County being such a giant school district with so many giant schools I feel truly blessed to be apart of this amazing elementary school experience!
We love Myakka Elementary!! My daughter is in the 2nd grade going into 3rd. She is reading and writing at a 4th grade level. I feel good about her safety and well being while she is going to Myakka. I love that there are not too many students in one class so she gets the one on one like she needs. We have loved each one of her teachers so far and the staff!! The nurse there is a sweetheart too:) I can't wait to send my other 3 to Myakka soon!!
Transferred my child here from another school in the district since moving, big mistake! This school is far behind times in comparison, they do not have the updated technology to teach kids for the future. I requested a conference from the teacher and after 3 months of not hearing from the teacher we called in. The class room was in complete disarray, stacks of papers everywhere and completely unorganized. Teachers dressing like their clothes come from a thrift shop, how professional is that?. The front desk acts like its a bother for you to ask them anything. This is a poor excuse for a school in general. I would recommend parents make the drive to another school if they are able.
