College Park Elementary School

This school is absolutely horrible! I don't understand the school that will not allow you to walk or escort your child to class. I don't understand the school that will not allow you to be active in your child's academics? I was told that I could volunteer, but I couldn't be a volunteer for my child's class. Then what's the point? During the beginning of school my child is parent pick-up they put my daughter in a very dangerous situation. My husband is white and my daughter is mixed in the woman in charge of the children did not believe that my husband was her guardian to the point where she made my daughter get back in line and handed him the next child in line which was white! Are you serious??? That could have turned out way worse than it was. Then when it was brought to the administration department and I told the lady what happened she literally laughed on the phone like it was funny! Next year my child will be pulled out and put into a private school so that I know she's receiving a good education and I know that I can be involved and her school. Terrible!

I hate this school. You will be lucky to get a good teacher. Let's not talk about the third grade teachers who don't check homework folders, yet, mark in the planners they didn't do it. The god awful amount of homework each night. The principle is way to strict with the kids. And oh my god!!!! The car line. 30 minute wait for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Thankfully, we will be moving!!!

I think that the teachers and staff work with the students as well as we can. Like every company there are some that drop the ball but as a whole we have a GREAT staff.

I will warn you not to take your child to College Park Elementary for the following reasons... if your child is bullied on the bus or school they will not do what is to be done for your childs safety. I had this happen to my child on the bus and i waited for a responce back from the school and noone informed me or called me so 30 days after christmas vacation i had to call the school myself and was told by the dean that he has alot of stuff going on day to day and forgot to call me... huh??? how does that happen so obviously they do not care about bullys in the school. I moved from up north and was told to get immunization forms transfered to florida state forms and i did then 2 months later get a letter from health dept that my childs immuniztions are not up to date.. well apparently the forms that the school submitted was missing the last immunization form so i had to go get that done all over again or my daughter would not be able to attend school.. and if your child has a problem like crying in school cuz they just moved they will give you a problem and then throw it in your face months later. this school needs to be shut down.. I will be calling the board and a lawyer.
