School rules about student drop off and pick up are poorly enforced. Safety is their last concern. Majority of staff is not friendly or helpful and is overworked and aloof. Parents in the area of low income are rude and as a community, it falls apart. Too transient, mobility rate is high. Somehow this school did not make the list of Free lunch to all students in 2016 which is a joke considering 90% of kids are on SNAP.

I went to this school back on the 70's. It was good school. I don't know how seriously one could take these reviews . Somebody is going out of their way to make this school look bad. Go to the 7th review. It was posted by " a student". It was posted December of '07. Read it. The person that wrote it is trying to pass off for a student. What raises a question about this review is that the person claiming to be a student has the worst grammer and spelling skills. In the first line the person spells school "skool". The word principle is spelled "princable". They have spelled patrol "potrols". See where I'm going here. Any parent that reads "that review"is gonna be thinking," if the school is so great, why can't that child spell simple words?" Prompting the parent to enroll their child in a different school. I say somebody has the proverbial "axe " to grind with that school. Read the review. You'll see why I question the validity of the "author".

I am moving to get my child out of this school if that says anything. Some teachers/staff are very nice but unfortunately the less great ones are the ones my child has to be involved with. I would never recommend this school to anyone and if you are zoned for it try to find a way to transfer your child. I know it is not the worst school around but it is not the best either. It was an A rated school so maybe in the past it was better but the 2013 grade was a B so maybe there is a decline. These A B ratings are not everything just because they get a A or B rating academically does not mean the faculty involved with your child get an A B rating. I know from my experience though this is not a place you want your child. What happened to the teachers that really care about the kids and took time with them to promote a better and healthy education. Oh and you never meet or see the principal! You always see the vice principal but not the principal, maybe there really isn't one hmmmm?

I must admit that even though my child had a small behavioral problem this school dealt whit his issues in a very bad way. We had meetings after meetings; they knew that we are involve in our child s education and we did everything possibly to help him improve, and indeed he did, but as the end of year came around our child was being bullied not by one or two kids, but 4. Luckily it wasn t in a physical way it was more verbally and this created our child to become frustrated all over again; acting violent, throwing chairs, papers, turning desks upside down, it was horrible; I do not agree with violence and our child knew this act was wrong. Between e-mails and the meetings we had with the faculty our child was still frustrated, so now he has a record. Glad he won t be attending McCoy any more.
