Sallie Jones Elementary School

This schooling set up so your child won't progress and teachers don't teach especially in lower grade levels. The staff is consistently yelling at the students when they come to school in the lobby, in the halls and make them put their heads down at lunch. Don't believe me, go observe for yourself. There is no Instruction or assistance with in class room work and they use the excuse that it is the system they must follow. Don't complain about a teacher or the way they teach because you will just make it harder on your child because they band together and make it harder for you and your child. They will try to divert it to blaming it on attention and learning disability. If you have an option for another school, take it!!!This school is negative all around, your child'sLearning foundation will weaken and their confidence level will diminish. Highly lacks positive influence. The work given, has words of instruction that are far beyond the elementary level and no assistance is offered. They are actually instruct the students to not ask the teacher for help.

We just moved to Punta Gorda from Houston last year, and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful kindergarten program for our daughter! This year, our son is in kinder and daughter in 1st, and again, we are extremely happy. We have been pleased with the quality of education, the low teacher turnover rate (along with their dedication and creativity), the school's safety and procedures, and the overall attitude of the staff. We couldn't have asked for a better place to educate our children through these formative years!

We love our kindergarten teacher! The stress if having our first child go into elementary school was scary, but we got a teacher who cares about her students. I can get a meeting with her whenever we need to. Every front office person knows almost every kid by name and face.There were times I have seen the front office staff be rude,I don't know why but they just aren't extra friendly. The only complaint we have is the horrible parent pick up line, but it is because of parents, not the school. The school expects the adults who pick up their children to follow the rules,The school offers a safety shuttle to get kids picked up outside of the traffic zone. I visited for lunch several times and I felt the person running the lunch room was a little harsh for the age of kids in there, but I did volunteer to run lunch one time and it is a tough job. The most important thing was my daughters education, she went in not reading and now she is tearing through any book she gets. I credit this to her teacher treating each student as an individual. We love Sallie Jones and hope that they see how much the parents a students need to see positivity in every aspect of the school.

As my daughter starts 5th grade this coming school year I reflect on starting Sallie a few years ago after moving to the area. I was very nervous and considered area private schools but so glad we choose Sallie. My daughter has received a wonderful education, so sad this will be her last year.
