Kinnan Elementary School

Any time we had concerns, the principle or vice-principle were readily available for meetings and the school seems to be a safe and healthy environment for our daughter to learn. We have had an excellent experience thus far and are pleased to have our daughter returning for 4th grade

A 10 my kid has excel more than other kids of his age in other states. I have no regrets in having my son elementary school life in Kinnan, I could not ask for a better place

I have been a volunteer at this school for 2yrs. I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful to me and others. The teachers are very good with the children-teaching, helping with learning disabilities, understanding of their needs, willing to talk with parents, caring about the çhildren. I have seen the same attitude in the cafeteria with the staff there when relating to the children. The office staff is great.

I am a first grade teacher at Kinnan and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful school! Having taught for 14 years, I know what makes a great school and Kinnan has it all! The most important factor I feel is that the teachers and staff are invested in the school as a FAMILY and everyone does their part to touch a students life in any way that they can. Teachers work together within and across grade levels and disciplines. The teachers at Kinnan are passionate about the important role they play in their students foundation and future. Our principal Mr. Hockenbury and assistant principal Mrs. Hicks know each student by name. They are constantly encouraging and praising students, walking into classrooms to observe teachers, and are directly involved in daily activities throughout the school. Another great thing about Kinnan is that it is a HEALTHY school. No candy or sweets are permitted and teachers sit with the students at the lunch table as if they were eating together at home. This really helps with behavior and modeling good table manners and etiquette. Kids are taught about the benefits of eating healthy and being active. They participate in a fitness special every day, along with a traditional special such as music, art, library/ media center. The list of things that make Kinnan great goes on and on. But the most important thing I feel is that the people who work there love what they do and are passionate about taking care of their Kinnan family.
