Mount Vernon Elementary School

We love Mount Vernon. We are new this year and came from a private school experience that we loved. MVE is definitely a different environment but it has a lot to recommend it: the teachers and staff are amazing; the student body and staff are diverse; the parents are engaged. I highly recommend checking out the school on the open house day (Nov 2) or one of the tour days. There's plenty more to learn than the numbers here suggest.

The Greatschools rating for Mount Vernon Elementary is not at all accurate. Please learn about and keep in mind all the factors that go into these numerical scores - they simply do not tell the story of this school. I highly recommend taking a tour and meeting the teachers. I am a parent of 3, 2 currently attend MVE and my oldest did as well (currently in high school).

As a parent, this is our 2nd year and I have nothing but good to say about the school. This site needs to update the information about this school because it is negative and does not show the true story . The school has many challenges that other schools may not have and has still manage to improve its rating. It takes a whole community's involvement and participation to make a school the best for your child!

We do special assignment to remain at MVE after moving out of zone 4 years ago. Two of my 3 children have attended there (one still is), and I'm hoping my youngest will go as well. The small community school is worth your attention as you decide where your children will go. The low test scores that lead to a rating of 2/10 on this site have NOTHING to do with what your child's educational experience will be at MVE.
