My two sons attended this school for a year and a half. They seemed to be doing fine. We never we notified of there being any issues with grades or academic progress. We did notice they were learning a whole lot of horrible behavior from other kids at the school, which is obviously more a parenting problem than school problem, but something to keep in mind.Halfway through their second year we were advised we needed to provide the office with our updated address. We had moved at the beginning of the school year, but figured it would be ok for the boys to finish the year at Chiles rather than uprooting them. We literally moved 5 minutes away into West Meadows, and were driving the kids to and from school. We brought our new address the day before winter break. We were advised that the boys could not return to Chiles after winter break and would need to start at their new school at that time. The boys had no warning whatsoever, and were unable to say goodbye to their friends. We emailed the principal and the area superintendent to see if there was anything we could do and never received a response from either. Rude, unprofessional, and just plain awful. The least they could have done is sent a simple, "No."But the worst part: after enrolling the boys in their new school, their teachers immediately noticed that they were both severely behind in math. Both are now regularly bringing home failing grades to the point we have to pay for tutors for them. They never had this issue before Chiles. I don't know if they're just pushing kids through to keep a high passing grade, or if they are just far behind the rest of the district in math, but it's caused a huge issue for my kids.Luckily, the new school (Clark) has been far better for them. Their attitudes have improved because their peers seem to have better attitudes. The teachers and administrators communicate and seem to truly care deeply for the students. Chiles might be great if your kid can be there for the entirety of their elementary school career (who knows what happens when they get to middle school though...) but brace yourselves if they have to switch schools at some point!

As a recent transplant to FL my child attended private school from PK- 4th grade. We were concerned about the transition to a new state and new school, but the Chiles community is very welcoming. The principal and my child's teachers (one teacher for Reading/LA and another for Math/Science) are very effective. Lots of recognition for scholars when they achieve academically (National Honor Society) or demonstrate good character ( Student of the Month). It is difficult for students who are new to the school in 5th grade to participate in band or other "clubs" as many of these activities are "full" for were selected in 4th grade. I wish the school were a K-8, as it has been a good experience for my child.

This is a great school with solid leadership and great communication. My daughter is in her second year at Chiles and has had amazing teachers - she is very happy here.
