In my opinion, there are too many open doors/gates into the school that are kept open all day. Someone can walk in and leave with a child..thank god it's in a semi good neighborhood and that has not happened yet. In have a son inK there and his teacher is amazing and very patient with him..
This school is just average. How it has an A rating is beyond me. I can only guess it's because all the teachers do it teach to the FCAT. There are very few extra things like PE, computer, or music. Teachers also seem to be burnt out and apathetic to parental concerns.
When I moved to the neighborhood, I saw that Claywell was an A school for many years, so, I was comfortable enrolling my son. However, I was soon disappointed with all aspects of his education, from academics, to PE and arts program (which is almost non-existent).
