I've recently removed my child from Astronaut. The principal is the #1 problem at this school. Hopefully all the complaints about her blatant favoritism and disgusting racial bias will get her removed soon. If and when that happens I'll gladly send my child back.

My son is doing fantastic at AHS. He is enrolling in dual enrollment and doing great in his classes. He likes his teachers and is involved in after school activities. The principal is fantastic, I receive a weekly phone call AND email to let me know what is going on at the school too. I am pleased with AHS.

Far below a minimum standard! I couldn’t be involved in after school activities based on bad grades mainly because of over expectations of homework.. who knows I could have been a great athlete and now we will never know.. academics is not the only form of advancement in life and should not be a prerequisite to more athletic forms of careers.. I should have been able to seek all available options for a career instead of just academics! I was 145 lbs and benched 210 I had natural ability’s that were untapped and left unenriched!

This school is both good and bad, and here's why it got 2 stars in my book. To start off, the teachers at Astronaut can be hit or miss. Some really do care about the students and their academic progress, however, some don't at all. I know teachers that use lots of curse words, every class. I could see maybe slipping up, but intentionally knowing that you're cussing in front of your students shouldn't be permitted. Don't get me wrong, I have had a few great teachers. Secondly, the administration at this school only supports the sports teams. Wonder why all the reviews are raving about sports? Because that's all they care about! With a wonderful choir program that I got to take part in, which gets straight superiors, performs at Disney, and more, administrators and many teachers don't fund the program, or even come to the concerts. I find this to be such a shame. Also, only Spanish and German are offered here, which I think is another disgrace. "Popular" kids get to dress and act however they want, while other kids get dress coded constantly. Overall, I think this school is a small town school, and it is extremely unfair, and needs to rethink it's priorities.
