With my experience at this school I’ve learned in the past 3 years that we don’t really deal with bullying well, one of my friends reported her bully and he made up some story and said she was bullying him, just because she had worse grades and got in a little more trouble at the time he got away with it. And although the school has some good teacher some lack a little, the new vice principal is really kid friendly though, he’s one of the good things other than the rare hands on teacher. Some teachers over grade things as well, such as study guides for quizzes which brought my grade down so much that I’m stuggling to pass my other classes while I’m trying to focus on one, the schools whole system of going about things really needs some work, on the surface it may seem good but avoid going here if you can.

My Daughter is in the 7th grade. Since she started in 6th grade there has been 2 principles. The last one was allowing racial issues, the minority students would get away with just about anything they wanted, and the current is in it for the Title. There is rampant Bullying. The principle is hard to get a hold of. It takes contacting the Superintendent to get the Principle to contact you. All she wants to do is to berate you because you interrupted her time, she called me at home and was not happy that she was called at home (she had already left the school and school was just let out) and did nothing but berate me, no proper response. AVOID THE SCHOOL IF POSSIBLE. The only good thing with my experience is the Choir Director, he really cares about the students and program.

My daughter should have been placed in advanced classes. Her teachers even wrote letters of recommendation for her to be placed in advanced classes. The school ignored these recommendations. We approached the guidance counselor about this and she said there were cutbacks and not enough teachers for advanced classes. We found out this was not true and just an excuse. We were lied to. We sent a few emails to the principal petitioning that our child be put in the advanced classes. She did not respond to us at all. Called the school several times to get an appointment. We were passed around from person to person and never got the appointment. Finally we withdrew our student and put her in another school that immediately had her in all advanced classes. In summary very unresponsive principal, a counselor that lied to us, and staff that is not willing to work with the parents. They would not work with us as parents to get our child in the level of classes she was capable of performing at. Apparently they do not have the best interests of the child at heart.
