Wiregrass Ranch High School

This school has turned into a disastrous political nightmare, where teachers tell their honors class students to forget about their academic dreams when facing abuse and injustice.

I’m coming up on my third year at this school and all I can say is it was okay. Nothing really big and eventful, just an average school. Punishments here are tough, after three tardies it’s straight to detention. And tardies are absolute, as soon as that bell rings you’re locked out even if it’s a second too late you get sent across the school to get a tardy slip and return to class 10 minutes later where you would’ve only missed 10 seconds of lessons. I don’t know, it’s been weird. Wiregrass is basic, all the kids are kinda the same. Most teachers are cool. Drugs are kinda a problem.

Not the best with embracing the differences in all races

The school is overall a good school I believe the teachers are engaged in teaching. What I want to see is more respect to the student. My daughter has to run to the portables to get to class on time this is absurd! She has to navigate through a huge amount of students. She has been running up the ramp to get to class and the teacher has slammed the door in her face several times telling her to go to the late table. After this if your continuously late you get a Saturday school detention or after school detention option. She has to take the Saturday option so she doesn't miss her 2 hours of sport conditioning after school each day. It really makes a child feel stupid and very disrespected when this is something that is not her fault!!!
