Excellent faculty, but students feel entitled if they have even some intelligence. Unfortunately, solving problems with violence seems the norm for most of the kids and of course, phones out to record it no matter how badly someone is being hurt!

Newton high school is very organized, and have SOME great teachers but the way they handle things with fights and bullying is not great at all. For me..I take bullying serious. I will not let someone just sit there an hit me and push me around. I will fight back, which is called defense. you can tell the assistant principal so many times that someone is picking on you but they keep letting them off with a warning...so the next step is to defend yourself....but when you want to defend yourself you the one who gets wrote up, iss and oss when all you wanted to do is defend yourself. They should really work on that and listen to their students ...probably there wouldn't be as much fights.....

I am currently an enrolled student at Newton High School. I will be going to the Newton College and Career Acadamy for my sophomore year though. I didn't enjoy my Freshaman year at all because of the lack of support from the teachers, staff and students. Majority of the students could care less about learning, most of them are only their for their friends, girlfriends/boyfriends, sports, drama, gossip etc. Most of the kids are awfully rude and discriminative towards others. There are some good teachers there though, but I still didn't feel comfortable enough to have a conversation with them. There was only one teacher who I felt actually cared about the students. The teachers also have their favorite students, and by the end of the first semester, a few of them get lazy. The school is full of drama, and there are too many fights!! The principal takes away our right to use the restroom because the ill-mannered students keep fighting. And sometimes I feel that the teachers are only there for their paychecks. I found it very difficult to learn and grow academically because of the negative energy I was surrounded by. So, I'm taking a chance at the Career Academy.

Just tried to register, don't want to but this is where we are zoned :(. Posted signs everywhere state that registration is between 12:30 and 2:30. Got there at 12:40 and the door was locked, two people sitting in a dark office. Without explanation was told to come back at 1:30. Very unprofessional, and a bad omen about this place if they can't even do their jobs correctly for registration.
