There is an entirely new administrative staff at the school now. It is much different than when my older child went there. Everyone is so helpful and they really put the kids first.

We just moved here. First day my daughter cried, new school, new house, new people and she was worried about not having friends which is common. The counselor very rudely said "Ok we're going to have to stop the tears." Such rude staff, if you have no compassion you shouldn't be a counselor. I also supposedly was asked if I could attend an IEP meeting and I declined... ummm... no. So the meeting went on with out me and they concluded with not even how my daughter really is. She has been in the IEP for years and I even brought her most recent one from other school. There was no reasoning to have a meeting. So far I am not happy with this school

I have 2 daughters who attend this school and they really like it. My 7th grader loves the band program. My 8th grader loves home-ec and the "Dinner By Design" after school program. Tutoring is available before and after school to all students. Advanced classes are offered to students with high grades. The principal and vice principal have taken seriously every concern that has come up and practice excellent communication. There are no school sports at Scoggins, which is really the only negative I can think of. There are other activities for the kids like chorus, drama club, color guard, GA History club, art club, Science club and 4-H.
