I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!! The staff is absolutely wonderful. The Guidance Department works with parents and students to get them what they need. It's evident that they truly care about those they serve. The office personnel seem happy to be there and happy to help. From what I can see, Groves has a great program for special needs kids ...I do not have experience with this department, but I see the buses out front loading and unloading each day. During this period, I see attendants working with the kids to get them loaded. Another thing Groves has is interpreters for the deaf children. There are presently four deaf children there. I have seen two of them involved in sports and the interpreters actively working with them during sports activities. I have met several coaches and they have welcomed me as a parent with open arms. The class sizes have decreased by 50% so the teachers can give better attention to the students. The ESL (English as a Second Language) program is top notch. I would highly recommend this school to anyone...don't listen to the rumors about this school, it's wonderful.

There are times at which Groves can be a little chaotic, but all in all it isn't a terrible school . The teachers really care for their students. The students aren't always the best, but there is no such thing as a perfect school. Unlike some schools, education is the main focus. They aren't constantly attacking students for breaking minor rules such as dress code, however it is addressed. I enjoy Groves. The students are very much accepting as well.

Grove is a horrible choice for sending anyone there. You won't learn much and things get hectic and confusing pretty quick, pertaining to grades and placement and testing. I was told during the summer retakes that i did not have to take the EOCT over even though i failed. I passed the class with a 73. But the teacher neglected to tell me that Graduation requirements state that you must pass the EOCT in order to graduate. I am class of 2016 and as you should know we don't have to take the grauation test in 2016. This school lacks coordination and consistency .Many students are leaving Groves this year and the population rate will go down further.

I am a student at groves currently and I recommend it today I can not speak on how it was int the past but I can say that over the last year or two it has gotten a lot better with the students off and gone to new hampstead the environment is a lot smaller which makes it better for learning and less fights so I would recommend it to anyone. The school could use a paint job or remodeling it is old !
