Lindsey is a horrible example for the kids. I guess if you can't run a High School they transfer you to elementary school. Douglas County must be desperate to keep Lindsey as a principal.
Don't be white here. My son for 3 years was bullied to the point he was stabbed because he was white. Video seems to disappear, along with staff being told not to write reports so there's no paper trail. State was called but they protect their own. You want your children safe don't send them here.
The administrators need to be investigated and removed. They are inconsistent in their actions involving the students. For the same action one student will get suspended while another gets "mediation" for the same offense or worse. The administration is not even sure what their jobs actually are. If you are a parent who values education or likes to be involved in your child's education, move as far away from this school as possible.
The school is run like a prison camp. The secretary is extremely unprofessional. When I came to pick my child up for a dentist's appointment I was kept waiting for 10 minutes. I asked the secretary if she could call for my student a second time and she informed me that the teacher would 'kill her' for interrupting again. I decided I would wait in the hallway. As I went for the door she began screaming at me not to go down to the classroom. I had to inform her that I was simply going to wait for my child right outside the door so we could leave immediately. Apparently, the principal allows this type of unprofessional behavior. The principal herself defended my child's second grade teacher when the teacher sent her home on the bus instead of to ASP. Luckily, I was at home when my child came home. The sheer negligence of this principal and unprofessional behavior of her office staff is incredible. The energy of this school is so negative. To go from a welcoming private school with friendly staff to a school where you're buzzed in like a prisoner and yelled at by office staff is incredible to me. Needless to say my child will not attend this subpar school next year. The teachers make upwards of 60K yet they constantly ask for money, sell t-shirts, etc while not offering great teaching. Lithia Springs is not the most well off area so if you're child has to attend Sweetwater Elementary be prepared to supplement their learning a whole lot.
