Martin Luther King- Jr. High School

I attended MLK High, and I loved it. Gifted and advance placement classes were great to be in. The students in those classes were really serious about learning and continuing to college. The band was a great organization to be apart of and to assure your child a paid ticket to college if they worked hard.

Very disorganized and unprofessional. My son is a disabled student and on his second day of school misplaces his schedule. Goes to front desk to get another and told no. Being s 9th grader in a new school, had no clue where to go! So he stood in the front by the desk and sent to in school suspension for skipping! He got sent home that day and told not to return until I come up there! For what! F**** idiots!!!!! It's not the students it's the staff! I'm done!

This is my daughter's 2nd year attending MLK and she is part of the JROTC program. She is doing well. She is a straight A student. My only issue is the scheduling. They continue to give her a gym class instead of a different elective when they currently don't have a gym teacher available to teach the class. Yet they gave her a B in that class which messes up her straight A honor roll. She seems to be happy at this school so I'd say this school is average.

This school is a mockery to the late Martin Luther King Jr. It shows no form of effort to help better the students. Multiple outrageous situations happen in the school. Also the teachers don't care for the students at all they're lazy, rude, and extremely hypocritical I seriously do not recommend you send your child here this is the worse school I have ever attended in my life the students are even worse the fight, steal, and sell drugs more than your common thugs and they don't do their work and constantly skip class the school conditions are awful. The food is terrible, the old building is molding, and this school has now been rated the highest in AID &HIV. The only good thing I can say about this God forsaken school is it's arts program but that's it. Even with that it's still not worth letting your child suffer in the evil place. Make the right decision send you child to a school the reflects their intelligence.
