It has disappointed me. My child is in Kindergarten and comes home misreable. They are not channelling in on the uniqueness of each child. They are following the book and ignoring learning styles. My child is well behaved most of the time. She tends to act like a typical 6 year old sometimes. For example, talkative and playful at the wrong time sometimes but overall and very sweet kid and yet all they ever seem to notice is her faults and now she feels like she can't do school right because she think she is bad when she is not. I overall hate the school. My income os changing therefore she will never be in attendance at a low income school again. They do not have a clue over there. Only thing they have mastered is asking for money week after week.
Both my kids go to this school and they love it there.... The teachers they had so far are all amazing... They are strict but loving. If you as a parent are involved then this school is great and the teachers will do whatever it takes to help your child be the best they can be. The whole school is just a big family to us and people are always nice when you walk in... We will miss this school when we move....
Our son just finished his kindergarten year at Birney and we could not be more pleased. The teaching staff is fantastic and very involved. Very happy with the decision to use our local public school! It is true there needs to be more parental involvement at the PTA level but they are actively working on it. Looking forward to a great summer leading into a great first grade year.
Our boy loved getting up in the morning and going to school. He loved his teacher and still does. He was excited about learning and his appetite was whetted for further investigation and learning.
