Two kids have graduated from here, third one is about to go in. It’s a tough school, somewhat rigid and strict. Very focused on education and not so much on ‘fun’. However if you want your child to succeed and receive a private level education for free - this is the school for you! Besides all the classes there’s also the dual enrollment option, plus so many sports, arts and clubs. It’s a very well rounded and high achieving school. I noticed some of the bad reviews have come from students but don’t let that fool you. There’s a reason McIntosh is one of the top rated schools in the state!

I had the misfortune of attending this school when my parents moved for jobs. The academics are fine but the experience is only reasonable for students who are willing to follow and obey every ritual the teachers seem to have planned (like reciting some oath about being informed and functional citizens...yes, that really happened). If you are different in any way (slower to learn, not as popular, not politically conformed) you will not have a good time at this school. I tried out for sports, made the team, was shunned the team for no discernible reason, and ultimately quit. I disliked it so much I moved back home after half a year.

This school was great! I was a student here and now I’m a teacher in a different state. The teachers here are amazing and I’m so thankful to have learned from them!

My experience here was SO absolutely atrocious, that I had to leave this school after 3 years. Many people have a great experience here but I wasn’t as lucky. This is not an individualized school—with just over 1700 students, they are viewed as the masses who must simply obey. Parents will always say that it is an amazing school without having stepped foot in it. My parents decided to take me out because this school absolutely crippled my mental health and general wellbeing. I must say that if you learn at a slower pace like me you will get looked down by teachers and peers. It is absolutely NOT the place to send your children if they are different/don’t “follow the crowd”. If you want your children to think for themselves, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.
