The school disregarded my child's 504 Plan and other disabilities, and pulled away nearly every accommodation that was in place and helping. Their view was 8th grade is the time students "sink or swim". Those were their words exactly. If I had only knew back then what I know now I would have filled a complaint with ISBE against the school. I have another child who will enter this school soon and if the Principal or Assistant Principal try anything like this again I will be filing a complaint against them with ISBE (Illinois School Board of Education). The Principal was not helpful, and refused to acknowledge that my child did qualify and did need the accommodations that were put in place and used for two years prior to coming to CMS. They stripped away everything that was helping my child and my child struggled immensely. Their ignorant and careless attitude caused much heartache and aggravation in our household and my child's experience at CMS. We will have another child there soon and if Walters crosses any line with our child we will be at the state level to complain immediately about her actions. In addition, bullying was rampant throughout the school we had to contact the local police department to step in and point out to the Principal what their responsibilities are towards their students and their safety. Absolutely unacceptable.

My son is doing great there educationally. But bullying is prevalent in this school and needs to be addressed.

The Dean of the school is a text-book ego-maniac who is more concerned with the students calling her "Doctor" than she is trying to work with the them. She is a perfectionist control freak who can only see her way as the right way. You cannot have a conversation with her. She will only talk at you. She is not someone who could ever see if she were wrong or admit so. She does not exude the qualities of a leader. Someone of her style is more a dictator.

I was really happy with the school and the teachers. My son is now in 11th grade and it only gets better. Very, very happy...
