Clissold Elementary School

My daughter is one month into kindergarten at Clissold and we are so pleased! There has not been one time where she has cried or not wanted to go, she is excited every day, and shares everything she is learning. She is thriving in the Montessori program and loves her art, music, and Spanish classes as well. As a CPS teacher myself, I could not be happier with Clissold!

We have two children at this school in primary grades, and they love going to school everyday. The montessori approach to learning is wonderful. We are very pleased with both of their teachers and paraprofessionals in the classroom, who work so hard to meet the needs of all students in their classes. One of my children is on a 504, and I was very impressed with the teacher's level of effort and concern put into keeping my child safe, happy, and challenged every day. The other is above grade level in academics, and she is still challenged by the differentiated activities and projects in the classroom. We also love the amount of field trips and the positive energy coming from both administrators. And the opportunities for parent involvement seem endless.

Previously, we sent our two children to Catholic school. Once we heard the buzz about Clissold, we attended an Open House and decided on the spot to transfer our kids there. We are so thrilled with the Montessori program, teacher/parent communication, strong support from the administration, intense parent involvement and the overall warm community. We're kicking ourselves for not looking into our amazing neighborhood school sooner!

I couldn’t be happier with Clissold. Well, I’d be happier if there were no uniforms... but you can’t win them all! Such a great school and a wonderful, diverse, active community of parents.
