My daughter started this school in pre-K, she love the school so much. The teachers are friendly and staffs are approachable to your questions. And the school building well established. Music and physical tutors are excellent. And the Ms.Johnson, the prinicipal is very professional and approachable.

My daughter was accepted to this school for 1st grade for the 2019 school year. She has a pretty intense IEP and this will be her first year in a mainstream classroom. The principal, Ms. Johnson has already met with me twice- once to answer my questions and show me around the school, and another time she called a meeting with the whole special education team (speech therapist, counselor, psychologist, nurse, social worker) so they could learn more about my daughter and how to prepare for her big transition. I’ve met several of the staff, and they’ve all been kind, and remembered me upon subsequent meetings. They are going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I was also impressed that Ms. Johnson walks around the school and calls the kids by their names, and she knows details about them. I have another daughter at Skinner West, which is a great school- but the class sizes are too big, and it’s easy to get lost in a crowd. My daughter’s class at Perez will be 24 students! So glad I found this hidden gem!

a gang heavy low income hispanic community but the big threat to this school is the upper grades behavior.the new building is very modern but the old building needs a facelift.
