5 on scale of 10. I think the school has potential. The humanities curriculum is weak. The school needs to be revamped and restructured for the students it serves.

My little sister was new to the school since February 2017, she is very popular but was being bullied by 2 girls for 3 months! Keep in mind my sister is disabled, deaf in one ear AND wears a hearing aid! I told the principal & talked to teachers. After they so called talked to the girls my sister reported the bullying was still going on. One counselor told me that this was not bullying. I was bullied from kindergarteners garten up until highschool, & have anxiety & depression. how can anyone tell me what bullying is? I know people personally who have committed suicide. These things are SO serious! I commented on that & the assistant principal said "& that's everywhere" ok then why would your school not handle the problem? I'm not discussing everywhere, I'm discussing THIS situation. My sister wore makeup to school one day out of 3 months and they told me that she must have low self esteem & asked me to put her in a girls mentoring program at the school. BIG LOL! What a insult! In my beliefs makeup is apart of expressing your feminine nature & has NOTHING to do with age. From my experiences you can walk in a store & buy makeup at any age! The makeup industry is bigger than its ever been right now, sorry if you all are living under a rock & are not very open minded or understanding to the children of this generation. So would u all have an issue if a little boy walked into school with makeup on???? You all running the school would FREAK out to something that is now more accepted in our society. Law suit waiting to happen. They made my little sister wipe her glitter eye shadow off & eyeliner saying it's "too much" HA! when that is NO WHERE in the rule books. Sounds discriminatory & personal to me. Also my sister said that one day again a lady invited her to the mentor program and as my little sister left the room the lady made the remark "& don't forget ur makeup!" WOW! it sounds like these older women as this Pershing magnum school have a HUGE personal problem with my 6th grade, 12 year old disabled sister. Also I worry about her education. They don't give test, barely have homework. She has As. bs & one C. A teacher told me at parent teacher conference this month of April "I gave her a better grade of a C because we fail no one at this school" LMAOO! If I ever tried to get her into a top highschool of Chicago, and she had to take a test. She'd FAIL!
