I'm actually a former student and it was awesome. There were certain pros and cons to this school. Pros- good facility, nice people/workers, good equipment, decent teachers. Cons- Wasn't as interesting as it could of been while learning in the classrooms. Overall Cottage Grove was a nice school. Everything was done nice and orderly!

It's a very nice facility. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say about this school. The administration is not doing their best to help teachers or the students. When they don't do their jobs, then the teachers are negatively affected. We all know what this does to students. So, it's a domino effect. The lack of communication, lack of organization, LACK OF DISCIPLINE, etc. exists throughout this two-school district. They seem to be more focused on making the school APPEAR to be good to the state (for funding purposes), rather than actually making the school better. This school is too focused on ISAT scores. Instead, they should focus on the various student products coming directly from the classroom. ISAT is not the only tool to measure student growth and knowledge. Teachers can do a fine job and students may know the material, but just don't test very well. Not to mention, the district is VERY small, so a shift of a hand full of students can yield a large improvement; especially if the school is moving more students with IEPs out of taking the ISAT and into the much easier IAA. I think this is truly the case. Very disappointed in this school.
