Gages Lake School

Sure at first we were nervous and scared when our school told us they couldn't deal with our son's needs. He had some major anger issues, some hyperactiviy and lacked self confidence. He has attended Gages Lake School for 3 years now and is a different child. They have helped him learn to control his anger and learn appropriate behavior for the class room and through his successes, he is gaining self confidence all the time. The staff and administration have been understanding and accomadating for all of his needs, from changing his homework (to add spelling which isn't a separate subject in the classroom) to changing staff to accomodate his and our needs. He is growing into the wonderful young man that we know he can be. We even get great compliments from outside childcare on how far he has come. We couldn't be happier that our district school "stuck" us with Gages Lake as our only option.

Sad to report, my child attended and came out worse for the wear. The teachers were beligerant, confrontational, combative and archaic. I was appalled at the way they treated both my child and myself. The therapists were of no help either, I compare it to constantly picking at a scab so it never heals. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE FOR "BEHAVIORAL" ISSUES. School is great for LASSO/AUTISTIC children, but not for children with ODD, OCD, Anger Management or Anxiety Disorders. Do EVERYTHING you can to keep them in the Regular Districts.
