I have say Henking is an outstanding school! Although it was hard for me to let me kindergartner go, it makes me so happy how much he loves his teacher and wants to learn. I am so impressed with how the kindergarten teachers work together and plan such fun activities. My son comes home excited about what he has learned and excited to go back. I am sure he will always remember his love of kindergarten and how his teacher made him feel. This experience has been very positive and I know my child will continue to love learning because of these teachers and staff!

The community should be aware that the dynamics at this school have changed over the years and is different from the other Pre-K to 2nd grade schools. It's scary how just recently a student brought a knife and toy gun to school. Also, I heard from another parent that a student was sexually harassed by another student and the principal hung up on the parent during a complaint. Really, this happens in Glenview???

To the individual stating in disagreement of a review is that persons opinion so really there was no need to note that this person is in disagreement. The principal can be rude and has had altercations with parents in the community, the social worker is terrible and a certain kindergarten teacher has horrible grammar and consistently has misspellings in emails that parents in the community have complained about for years! In addition, misbehaviors are not handled well in the classroom. The way staff sometimes addresses the students (especially the lunch/recess monitor) is very aggressive. This individual is known to consistently yell at the kids in not an appropriate manner for an elementary school. So that is my opinion and again no need to state "I disagree with the post below". I respect yours so please respect mine! Thank you!

Our daughter will be entering First Grade this year and we couldn't speak more highly of the school, especially the Kindergarten teachers, who created such a warm and nurturing environment. We were amazed by her academic progress, especially in reading, and we look forward to another year at Henking!
