Nathan Hale Elementary School

I have a child in the first grade and i feel that he isn't being helped fully when it comes to certain things. He has a learning disability and struggles with reading and finishing things without some extra time. I get notes home saying it took him 30 minutes to complete an assignment or he struggles with certain things. Well yes he does and i feel his teacher should take that into consideration instead of sending notes home everyday and making him feel bad because he has a harder time with certain subjects than his peers

Very supportive staff. Very responsive and willing to help with resources.

I have one child finishing up third grade and another that attended K-4. As much as I know the teachers work very hard with the students I don't feel either of my children received enough homework. My third grader has a homework packet for the week that he can finish in one evening if he wanted to. That is outside of studying the spelling for the week. I know kids learn at different rates and the teachers have it hard trying to juggle that aspect. Outside of the academics this school had no organization when it comes to family programs. Especially when run by the PTA. This is with the exception of the winter concert. I dread going to anything.

The students could use less time out of school, fewer incidence of substitute teachers when a teacher is on leave, and more integration of classroom activities between above average students and average students,.
