Lemont High School is an all-around great school for all students. The faculty and staff are top-notch professionals who are knowledgable, intelligent, and communicative. I am proud to send my children there.

As a student at LHS, I can say that for the most part the students and staff are great. All of the teachers are extremely nice and care about their students' education. The vast majority of the teachers stay after school to offer extra help to those students who need it. Lots of the students in honors classes or in higher grades offer tutoring to students who have trouble in a subject. Lemont high school is very safe ,in the rare occasion of a fight, the staff breaks it up very diligently. As well as being a leader in academics Lemont high school has some of the best sports programs around. Bad things: the school is boring. Other than the two spirit weeks during the year, nothing else happens. The deans are very biased. Since one of them is a football/basketball coach, the players on those teams can get away with anything they do, but a regular kid would get suspended for a week and have their whole schedule changed for the same incident. Also the school is primarily made up of Caucasian students and teachers. There may be 5-10 black students in each grade and that is stretching it. Around 15-20 Hispanic/Latino students, and very few Asian students. Overall this is a great school.

Lemont High School recently decided that students/families must now pay to be involved in extracurricular activities-sports, cocurricular, everything except a few service clubs. Way to go LHS, you just made it more difficult for uninvolved students to become involved in activities, and also difficult for returning students to remain in the activities they once enjoyed. Students from lower income backgrounds will now have to choose between activities that they enjoy. This is not a way to foster creativity and a desire to try new things. LHS went from being a good school with great academics, wonderful teachers, and amazing extracurricular programs to being a place I would not want to choose over another school with similar academics. LHS's extracurricular programs just lost their recognition for being some of the best around this area. Nice move.
