Longwood Elementary School

We have really enjoyed our experience at Longwood. It is a very diverse school and teachers really focus on social-emotional learning and self-regulation. Teachers really listen to concerns, yet are practical and reasonable when dealing with student discipline. My children have always felt challenged at Longwood and have felt strong connections to teachers and staff.

We moved into the Longwood neighborhood before having school aged kids and now having two of our three kids there, know that we want to stay within the boundaries to ensure that they all are able to experience Longwood. So much of what shapes a young learner is their early childhood and primary experiences. It is our ideal learning environment and I know that my children are treated well within the walls of that school. The PTA has also be an wonderful resource to us as new parents to the school. They are very communicative with the community and work hard to support the faculty and staff by showing up and monetarily if possible. They put on an annual 5K run/walk and various other opportunities like restaurant night and this past year - bowling!

My son attended Longwood for five years and my daughter is now entering her fifth year at the school. Our family is so happy with Longwood. The principal, staff and teachers are top notch. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The class sizes are great and my kids loved all of their teachers and classrooms. The school, along with Longwood's PTA do a great job in providing fun activities for the families. The Run with the Lions 5K is a highlight of the year! Don't hesitate for one minute. Longwood is a true gem and it will not disappoint.

Initially very much confused with the school rating, since i really like the affordability of house prices in this locality and the prime location. After a lot of research and inquiry, Have both my kids in Longwood currently. Kudos to the hard/good work from all the staffs and associates in the process of improving the school, keep going. Special regards to the Principal Mrs.Ratner. Appreciate all the efforts from PTA, one suggestion is volunteers need to step up as much as we can.Keep going Longwood Lions.!
