I feel academically it is a school that is aggressive and a front runner in education. I do feel there is more important things in a school experience that you may be able to find in another 203 school. The school is ineffective in protecting students against bullying and physical altercations. Troubled children’s rights are placed on a pedestal before your child’s education and your child’s safety. Bullying seems to be reoccurring which could be a reflection of our society as a whole, however, they will avoid informing the parents of physical altercations that occur at school and try to hide these altercations from reaching the parents. This is frightening, especially if you have a child who is quiet or doesn’t convey in full detail the events of their day. I wouldn’t recommend this school, I believe there are better options in the area. They do find a way to produce good test scores, but the overall experience of the school is very flawed and in our experience not a safe environment.

Like another poster said, everything is shoved under the rug. Staff, from top down, will do anything to avoid taking responsibility for their lack of supervision, and refuse to do anything about issues raised. You will get no where with them if you bring to their attention things your child has experienced. Responsiveness is not their forte.

My daughter was in this school. She was bullied as a special need child by the staff and the kids. Her aid also hurt her as she came home with scratches on her back and told me who did it. They don't take any responsibility for what happens there and everything is shoved under the rug. My daughter also stopped talking and shut down. Nothing was done by the staff. Avoid this school if possible. I feel so stupid for keeping her here for two years before switching. This is what I get for listening to the reviews about how great this school was when they're garbage.

This school is excellent. Both my sons are happy and thriving here. My younger boy (7) has some speech and cognitive issues but the teachers are proactive, creative and understanding as they come up with the best ways to help. Plus they communicate via email and notes home very often. The principal is also super responsive and really knows her job well. Very happy with this school.
