My oldest daughter has had really great teachers here and has exceled (according to standardized testing she is in the top 5% in Illinois for math and reading). She has since moved on to the middle school (3-5). My youngest daughter (middle child) is starting 1st grade, she had a wonderful experience with her kindergarten teacher.Unfortunately the school district and principal are no longer honoring teacher requests (ie would love for my second child to have the same teachers as oldest). Apparently, this is too much to ask the principal or district as they have purposefully gone against our request and put her with another teacher, whom I'm sure is great. However, schools/teachers/principals want parents to be involved, and we are in volunteering both our time (two working parents) and money (fundraisers) to Park school. My wife and I are always at school helping out and volunteering when they need volunteers. I feel this is a slap in the face to those parents who are involved in their child's education (we all SHOULD be). So if you want to be involved and have children that do well, this is probably not the school for you. Your efforts to be involved (as teachers often blame parents who aren't for the child's weaknesses) will most certainly go unwelcome. I mean who would know better than a parent which teacher would be good for their child...no, not even the teacher who suggested your child would do well with the requested teacher.....the principal obviously {extreme sarcasm intended}, who has never been involved with your child on a day-to-day basis. This is just one of many things the district is doing to alienate parents. Oh...and we are Cook County so you will definitely be paying in taxes for this "leadership" in the school and district. Again, great teachers, but who knows where we are headed with the new administration and policies.

Best school ever!!! Amazing principal, teachers and staff!!! They are welcoming, personable and genuine. They couldn't have done a better job finding great people! The school is also ran well. Great school and I would highly recommend it.
