I used to get bullied a lot and I went to one of the principals and one kid would tell a story and then I would tell mine and they would believe the other persons story. I like the school but they need to work on the bullying that happens in the school.
This school district is a bit of a joke. The majority of its funding goes toward sports, not academics. The administration and faculty care more about how many "clubs" & "sports" their students are in then with real life experiences or having their students participate in worth while causes. The administration is all about political agendas. If you put your student in this school, make sure you are wealthy or are good friends with someone on staff because that is the only way your student will have a leg up. The varsity baseball coach is entirely unprofessional and makes terrible decisions and should have been removed a long time ago; but again...because of political agendas, he's not and the baseball players absolutely despise him. Good luck!
Do not put your children in this school. You go to the principal and or assit principal expecting help with bullying and your child gets in trouble for defending him/herself. You follow the rules and jump the hoops and your child is not only victimized by the bullys but by the school too!!
Hononegah has great teachers. They really prepare you for college. One thing I don't like about the school was that they did very little to help those with disabilities, compared to the other schools I went to. And they have no vocational programs. Basically, they have nothing to offer those who are Borderline Intellectual Functioning and the like. I don't see why people say it's crowded. I'm a transfer from Beloit Memorial. That school is crowded - and bigger. You barely can breathe in the hallways during passing time. Hononegah is not crowded. I was also a bit sad that they didn't offer Latin classes. For a school that has great curriculum and gets so much praise, they sure didn't have a lot of the electives I previously took. Or programs.
