Average experience. Not as supportive of the needs of students.

Fabulous teachers. My child is so engaged in the technology and Spanish offerings! Richmond Intermediate is a wonderful school!!!

I have kids at both Davis and Richmond. I think it is unfair to rank this school lower just because they have a lot of students who speak primarily spanish. The world is diverse and this is a great school to learn with diverse students. Richmond is the only elemntary school in the district that offers foreign language. My daughter is taking French and loves it. It is also the only elementary school that offers orchestra classes. They are also the only elementary school where every student has there own personal Ipad which enhances their learning. My daughter has thrived at the school. She loves the classes and the teachers. In my personal opion, it is the best elementary school in the district.

I appreciate that there are websites out there to rank schools for people that are new to the area. Unfortunately, there are times when rankings or test scores do not actually reflect the quality of education of the school. Richmond/Davis is certainly this case. The entire school system in St Charles is excellent.Richmond is unique in that it is one of the few schools (there are others) that have scores lower than the other elementary schools. If you are afraid of Hispanic children you should run for the hills (or in our case the corn fields). The Hispanic population in town enroll their children with limited English and for this reason the scores are lower. They receive an amazing amount of support from the district at the elementary level which is why Thompson Middle School and East High School have excellent test scores DESPITE these same kids feeding up to those schools. Everything evens out by the time everyone enters Middle school. The quality of education is great. If your child happens to already speak english, great...they get to learn spanish!!! Richmond is the ONLY elementary school in the entire district to offer foreign language.
