Working to make a valid ability to impact a relationship that will be beneficial to the whole system.

I have been at Abbott for many years. The principals have been very supportive of the classes that I teach. I teach Special Education and have a variety of students with multiple disabilities. The students love coming to class and enjoy the variety of teaching methods that are used. They come back yearly to visit their old Middle School which puts a smile on my face to see how they have matured and grown.

Robert Abbott Middle school is like a prison. We are treated like inmates in that school. In the cafeteria we are barely allowed to talk and we have to sit in the same spots or we are sent to "the wall". We get in trouble for almost anything. A student was suspended just for having a deck of cards! Elementary schools and the high school allow cards, but not Abbott! They are quick to assume that you have problems at home or in your personal life and one of the counselors labels us right away as "depressed" or any other term. There are constant fights and the education is very poor. There are some good teachers that actually do their jobs but most don't know how to do their job right. This is a problem not only in this school but in others in Waukegan. I do not look forward to any more years at that school! It is the worst school I have ever experienced in my life!
