Simply put, my son was way more prepared for college than his peers. DHS is basically a private school without the cost of tuition. If you can afford to live in the town, you’re doing your children a great educational service that will last a lifetime. All that and the athletics are phenomenal...

I am a former student and moved to Duxbury in the middle of high school at which point I felt as though I was behind academically although I had been doing well in my classes at Silver Lake. After graduating from DHS I felt as though I was better prepared for college than some of my peers. I would say it is a great school and would love for my future children to be able to attend. It is also very helpful that the whole culture of Duxbury is to excel academically and in sports, which does some of the work for the school.

Things have changed for the worse drastically since the previous ratings were posted below (2004 and 2007). Now, drugs run rampant in the school. There are drug dealers in every grade. Students are disrespectful in class and teacher's don't seem to have control of their classroom. My son sits next to kids who are high all day. No one notices. We moved to this town for what was suppose to be high-quality education, but unfortunately DHHS hasn't been that experience for my son.
