We have 3 boys in the Ipswich School System and we have been happy with the quality of education, arts program and athletics. The teachers and administration, for the most part, are passionate about the learning process and teaching the kids. My wife grew up in Ipswich and she has said that the school system and resources have been vastly improved when compared to what she had in the 70's and 80's. Ipswich is moving in the right direction, and the community is an incredible town to live in!

The Ipswich, Ma. High School reputation has gone down hill since the last principal left. The math depart is horrible and no matter how much the parents and students complain about their lazy teaching, the principal does nothing. Brilliant students have taken the ap chemistry and the Honors and ap math and the teachers throw the information at them, sitting at their chairs for the most part and do not teach. It is up to the parents to get tutors and most of the kids do terrible and it looks horrible on the college application. Many parents warned me and I wish I had listened and got my daughter out of the school and into private or at least take the college classes at NSCC. If your child is bright and has a bright future, these teachers will ruin it for them. They just do not teach and even if they give you work to study, they try to set you up for failure on the test but giving you problems that you either have not seen or that they told you would not be on the test.

Great school if you child is gifted or special needs. If your child is middle of the road he or she will just get pushed through the system.
