The education and just overall say the school is structured is the reason I was able to go on to college and graduate from an AACSB business school and get a job.
The school was not for me so I personally didn’t like it whatsoever, made some good friends though, would recommend going if you like school boring and easy. Overall I would give my experience a 2
Maynard High School is a brand new state of the art $46 million dollar high school building constructed in 2013. The Town of Maynard is a geographically smaller size town than the bordering towns of Acton, Concord, Sudbury, and Stow, Massachusetts. The Town of Maynard High School is the size of a small private prep high school compared to the much larger population school districts of those neighboring towns. Those four school districts have many more students, higher property taxes for funding, and larger classrooms. Maynard High School offers a tremendous alternative to the high school experience as one of only a few "small student population" to the "large school population" high schools of Sudbury-Lincoln, Concord-Carlisle, Acton-Boxboro, and Nashoba Valley (Stow-Bolton). Maynard High School represents its strong, small neighborhood communities where home values are much more reasonable for the median salary type of career professionals or skilled workers. Maynard High School students learn in an environment with less than 290 students. Students at Maynard High School have access to Advanced Placement courses that might not be offered at the surrounding towns with large student populations. We witnessed the difference first hand during a student led tour of the Maynard High School in 2014 by a senior year student who was taking advanced placement courses that were not offered at neighboring Acton-Boxboro High School. He was extremely satisfied with his AP courses, ability to compete, and be accepted at highly competitive universities. When looking at a home purchase in Maynard, it is important to realize that one of the rewards of Maynard is living in a small, quiet, established town with a high school having less than 290 students. This fact alone is the major difference from the four surrounding school districts. The Maynard High School athletic program is a part of the Massachusetts (MIAA) smaller high school district division. It has had success in reaching the Massachusetts State Championship Game in basketball (March 2016) and football (November 2016). Welcome to small town living and small town Maynard High School. Town of Maynard and its high school are within a reasonable distance (25 miles) commute to downtown Boston via commuter rail or highways. Take a tour of Maynard High School to see the benefits of a small high school.
This is an under rated school system in my opinion. Sent both my children through it. Both excelled and went on top top colleges -- Holy Cross and NYU. The big development is they just opened a state of the art High School and the Middle School is also less then 10 years old, so the facilities are excellent.
