I had one child to through Curtis and I feel terrible that I did not pull him out and put him in private school. He was a good student prior but the teachers were inadequate overall. My other children will absolutely not attend Curtis. Curtis is the elephant in the room in terms of Sudbury education. Fixing this would greatly improve education in the town.

Horrible, the worst school I have ever been to and I strongly do not recommend this school to anyone.

We had two kids attend ECMS for 7th grade. We moved to a Sudbury and were a little worried about the transition. The kids and staff were terrifically welcoming and supportive. Academics were in general great. Particularly strong in math and science, but all were good.

The teachers gave up on actually teaching kids, they view their role as babysitters. There is very little learning going on. Mathematics is in particularly bad shape, the "teacher" just gives website addresses and tells the kids to learn new concepts there. The same goes for homework. Last year, in 6th grade, a particular algorithm was explained incorrectly (the instructor didn't figure out yet that she could just use internet so she actually tried to explain it herself). When it was pointed out to her that she was wrong the response was "oh, someone showed me how to do this". Other classes are not much better. And as far as high scores the school gets, that's not a huge surprise: Sudbury is a fairly well-off town and parents can afford tutors.
