I moved to the are in the summer of 2015 attending Aberdeen for my junior and senior year. Overall the school is great, most teachers are nice and guide students through lessons effectively. A gripe I have against the school is the weight teachers place on their students. For instance, I am enrolled in a regular English class, but the teacher (excluding the name on purpose) treats it as an Advanced Placement course. Some of the teachers are just plain unorganized. An example of this is in the beginning of senior year. I had not been absent at all and my teacher claimed I had not turned in some of the work. This doesn't make any sense... I'm a straight 'A' student and currently have a 'D' in that class. Another example of disorganized teachers is having incorrect answer keys for tests. The teacher graded all of our tests then to the whole class said, "the answer to question number - I don't remember the number - is A, it was wrong on the answer key, but most of you got it correct." So someone asks if they will fix the grades. "No." And that was all they said. There are more instances that I won't go into much detail about, but some teachers; lose your papers, have too low of expectations (taped a ruler to a stick for 90 minute project and received a 100%), and not being able to explain what they are teaching. On the other hand, this school has it's virtues. They offer many programs and clubs that students can actively participate in. The people in the office, both main and guidance, are kind and ready to assist you with whatever you need. The principle also holds these same attributes, but actively inspires students via the main announcements almost everyday. The school also has a vast number of courses which at my old school were non-existent. Pros and Cons for people who don't care about the mumbo Jumbo...Pros--Helpful Staff-Various Clubs and Activities-Motivated to do your best-Teachers will help students before and after school hoursCons--Unorganized Teachers-Teachers with too high of expectations-Teachers with too low of expectations-Throwing food in cafeteria-It can be difficult for students to obtain a parking permit-Class change time is too short (5 mins) you cannot walk from your class on the left side of the building on the 1st floor to your locker on the right side then the 2nd floor on the left in less than 8 mins

We just moved to the area in January 2015. So far my son likes the school a lot. We haven't experienced any issues at the school despite online rumors that there are disruptions. I've visited the school several times during the school day and it's always quiet, and the students seem well mannered as the transition from class to class.

I am a junior in Aberdeen high and I would not recommend this school to anyone. The teachers are rude and they abuse their power. If you go to the principle with a problem they say they will handle it but never do. This school is a big joke and I wouldn't send my child there. They will screw you up on how they grade things.

My school is one of the best you can go to; teachers are willing to always help the students.
