This is a great school. Some teachers know how to handle thier classes (and of course, some don't). Blackboard and Parent Connect is a great "PARENT" tool to keep on-top of your kids progress. You can verify if their "story" of NO HOMEWORK is true or false. Access to emailing teachers is great when you need to check on status of something in class, or if "Parent connect" assignment does NOT match a graded paper that your child has.
Very delighted with Severn River Middle. We moved to the area specifically for the schools and are glad that we did. Arnold Elementary was a wonderful school and we are no less delighted with the experience our now 7th grader is having at Severn River Middle. The only negative about the school is the huge class sizes. Due to funding issues my son has some classes with near 40 students in them. I am grateful that he is doing extremely well considering that he is in all advance classes but if he were not doing so well and needed more attention, I am not sure that a teacher with that many students would be able to devote much attention to him.
