Oakleigh Elementary School

The school goes as the homes around it go. The school and area have become transient in nature with renters staying a year then moving on. This means teachers have problem kids move in and when they finally learn how to reach a child he/she is gone the next year. Kids who stay either do well or improve but I can’t help but think they could have accomplished more had they not been dealing with behavior issues. Overall great teachers are being let down by bcps ever changing discipline code and lack of parent involvement.

Great school all around! My sons grades have changed tremendously since moving to the area and having him transferred.

This is an exceptional school. All 3 of my grandkids currently attend and I could not be more proud of their accomplishments. They're learning to play instruments and are involved in theater.
