I would give this school a very poor rating because they don’t really seem inclined to ensure that the students are learning or are safe.

Horrible starting from the staff in the office to the classroom. I can say it’s only one teacher I know that genuinely cares about her job she’s a third grade teacher and she sometimes wait for parents to come to give report on children. She has come to my car several times about my son with good and bad news. She’s very nice teacher and my son liked her a lot. I can’t remember her name . I wish I knew her name. Mr. Bloom is very nice and always pleasant him and the two other ladies in the car loop but beside that everyone else is snotty and have bad attitudes. The staff in that office has bad attitudes. How do you not speak to parents when they come into the office? I can only imagine how the children are treated. The principle has a bad attitude as well. This is one of the worst school in my opinion in Baltimore County. I also don’t like when I come to visit my son who’s in forth grade and my daughter who’s in the second they are engage in the laptops or chrome books they provide them. That is the problem with today’s generation. The children are technology driven which limits their social skills among other skills. The children be on the laptops not engaging with other students while teacher is grading or doing whatever they are doing at the desk and all this is acceptable because it keeps them quiet. It’s disgusting!

My School is Winfield Elementary. The staff there is excellent. Both of my children have recently transferred from another school and it is drastic difference in the attitude and demeanor of the staff there. Everyone is so positive and caring towards the children. I feel good when I drop them off in the morning. As a parent, I want to visit and volunteer more to be part of their pleasant and productive environment. The only thing that I have noticed so far that needs improvement is the use of First in math, BCPS1 or some other online tools to help supplement the in-class learning and behavior monitoring. Overall it has has been a good experience so far.

Winfield is a good school at times they have many challenged students they get little to no support from the county board of education and do great things with what they have there over crowding is never addressed by the assigned rep Karen Blanard and ignored by the superintendent
