My kids attend Beach and we love this school. One of my children is developmentally delayed. The teachers and staff have been amazing with him . I always feel supported from his teachers and staff during IEP meetings and that they try to help my child as much as possible . The teachers all seem to truly care for the students..

As former public school teachers, my husband and I are so pleased to say that Beach Elementary School is fantastic! Our daughter was incredibly prepared for middle school. The teachers, administrators and support staff created a challenging yet caring learning environment. Beach is a great place for kids!

Beach Elementary really is a great place for kids. I cannot say enough good things about the hard working principal, Dr. Shisler; his energy has made the school (and the chess club) one of the best in the area. The teachers and staff are excellent and create a community atmosphere. In addition, the PTA and high level of parent involvement have a strong impact on the school's overall success.

They introduced the Common Core curriculum for the first time this year. Not impressed. The standards are "dumbed" down. Everything is taught in a group, all children are grouped and they basically teach themselves. My child is frustrate with having to learn math in a group the kids in the group bicker and argue but they are taught to resolve their differences, iLooking into the local private schools or moving to Virginia (they didn't adopt the CC standards). Curious to see what the MSA scores will be like since the test is going to be more advanced than what is being taught. The Common Core test won't be released till 2015. The children are the ones that will suffer if we parents don't put a stop to this. Do your research parents about common core. Let me just be clear, the teachers are doin their best with what is given to them to teach, the staff including the principal are all top notch and they truly care about the kids, my problem is the curriculum and that within itself is enough for me to seek for something better.
