poor, there are no consequences for unacceptable behavior, there is very little respect from students DUE TO THIS ,life lesson # 1 (there are ALWAYS consequences for the choices you make ,whether you are 4 or 104. I feel that Gilpin manor will lose a lot of good teachers due to this decision.

We had a very poor experience at this school. Bullies are not dealt with, and issues are often swept under the rug until someone else will have to deal with it. The teachers are wonderful and work very hard to aid each student, however the administration is terrible. Issues brought to their attention are largely ignored. The curriculum is not up to par. When I pulled my children from public school they were definitely behind in a variety of areas.

My daughter has attended Gmes since kindergarten and we have enjoyed it. We also participate in a lot of the extra activities such as Splash, essays for scholarships, and the science fair . I do feel that some of the children are distractions but with the right attitude by parents, teachers, and children the opportunity for success is there!

I have 3 who attend/attended this school. They transferred in mid year but this was not an issue since GMES & other CCPS elementary schools use the same curriculum & standards. One exception is the social studies modules. They are rotated between schools so a child could end up repeating a mod about the Amish people & completely miss another. It's a title 1 school & has a FIA staff member to help coordinate services provided by state funding. She plans many special events that help children & parents. She helps coordinate distribution of materials that a student may not have. GMES is an active participant in the Judy Hoyer Partnership Program which helps to promote school readiness & assist students in early grades have materials & activities to help them succeed. Quite a few parents feel as though some office staff can be unpleasant & even condescending at times. I like this school, but my children are bringing home behaviors & slang they see in other students & imitate them.
