I have been at this school for 2 years now, i am going into 8th grade. Last year we had 8 fights in 3 days. Im scared most time i am there. For my saftey and my friends saftey aswell. Last year the 7th grade teachers did pretty much nothing to stop fights. If someone got into a fight they would be sent to ISS ( in school suspension) for the day and that was it. I am not trying to make this a racial thing, but most of these fight were started by african americans. Not all of them. But the ones who habe a very 'thuggish' mentality. Those individuals did whatever they wanted to do and got away with it. I know Mrs. Beth Allsouse is trying to fix the current situation, but she needs to focus on fixing the students punishments and behavior. Instead the school bought 10 telivisons for the cafeteria and lounge. Students are always bullied, me bieng on of them. Most of my friends are y friends because they are suicidal from bullying, me bieng one of them aswell. I am scared to go to school fearing what i will have to deal with that day. I am hoping my 8th grade year withh be better, but i dont expect any change.

I've gone to Northern Middle for three years, and this year, there was a large change in protocol and an even larger change in staff. 2 out of 4 of my academic teachers are completely new, and another has been there less than 4 years. I don't feel safe half the time, with multiple fights a week, and tiny classrooms filled with upwards of 30 kids. I understand that the principal is trying to make the school better, but you have to fix your existing problems before starting something new, and she seems to have forgotten that. Honestly, I can not wait to leave, and don't even care where I'm gong, as long as it's away.
