This is one of the best elementary schools in Charles County!! I'm lucky my son has been zoned here. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff, Vice Principal and teachers. The teachers treat children with respect, kindness and understanding, all the while teaching them in ways that the kids can apply what they are learning in life and grow in knowledge of basic (and sometimes complex) skills. Amazing school!!

A friend and I visited this school this week to deliver and present dictionaries to each third grader, a gift from our Rotary club. The Principal and Vice Principal were outstanding in their reception. They were also very respected by the children and obviously liked by each of them. The children were very orderly and respectful in their entry , observance of the presentation and their exit. They were also gracious in their acceptance of the gifted dictionary. I was extremely impressed with my entire visit of the school. The teachers were very friendly and gracious in the visit. The cleanliness of the school was impressive. This is a great school! I was very impressed.

This is a great school! My son went there 2nd-5th grade and had the most amazing experience. From the time you walk in and are greeted by the very sweet secretary, it just feels warm and inviting. She knows all the children's names and is a friendly face to welcome them each day. The teachers have all been phenomenal! Their gifted program is top notch and the teachers truly build on the. children's strengths and gifts. They recognize their weaknesses as well and strive for excellence in a positive and encouraging manner. They challenge our kids and hold them accountable. My son has had many great opportunities, due to the solid foundation he got while in school here. He excels academically and is a well rounded student! Ihave witnessed a few teachers abuse their authority, but it was addressed appropriately. This is a gem in Charles county!

My son is starting first grade this year. He loved kindergarten and missed school all summer long. His kindergarten teacher and the full time aid were wonderful. Very attentive to his needs and ours. At meet and greet for first grade we told him he had to see his new teacher first then we could go see his kindergarten teacher. 1 week in first grade has been great as well though a bit early to fairly judge. There is nothing bad that I can possibly say about our experience with GBES thus far. Looking forward to when our twins go in 2 years.
